Wicks Post Convention Event Day
We at Wicks are very excited that the St. Louis Chapter of the AGO has invited us to sponsor a tour on Friday, July 10th, 2026. This tour will be a historical tribute to the Wicks Organ Company and to the great city of St. Louis. It will begin with a visit to St. Paul Catholic Church in Highland, home to Wicks OPUS 5434, a 23 rank pipe organ. There, Jeff White, CAGO and from St. Louis, will entertain us with recital pieces as well as some favorite hymns for all to sing along with. Jeff will be accompanied by Amanda Wick, vocalist and fourth generation of the Wicks organ family. After the recital, attendees may go to “The Olde Wicks Factory”. This was the third location of the Wicks Organ Company and is located at 1100 5th Street in Highland, Illinois, and is now renovated into a beautiful event space. It is also the home of a 7 rank Wicks Theatre Organ Opus 737, which was built in 1927. You will have the chance to hear it played by Tom Docter, who is known throughout St. Louis as one of the organists who played for the St. Louis Blues and the St. Louis Cardinals. A catered luncheon will be provided by the local favorite Cygan Delaney catering in the Grand Hall. Tom will play background music while you dine, and Scott Wick will share with you a brief history of The Wicks Organ Company. Afterwards you are invited to tour the Olde Wicks Factory building and walk across the street to the current location of Wicks Organ LLC. The day will conclude with a recital at Our Lady of Sorrows in St. Louis Missouri. Our Lady of Sorrows is home to a beautiful period Wicks instrument, Opus 2263, which was built in 1941 and has 40 ranks of pipes on 3 manuals. All will be treated to an exciting recital by Brody Bett. Brody, who has just turned 16, has been touring the United States playing on some of the most famous instruments for his online audiences which are growing close to 100, 000 followers. Jeffrey A. White, CAGO, is the Minister of Music and Organist at Trinity Lutheran Church in the historic Soulard district of St. Louis. Jeff earned a Master of Church music degree at Concordia University Wisconsin, studying Organ with Dr. John Behnke and Dr. Nancy Ypma. He is a native of St. Louis, and was raised in the Lutheran traditions, and coincidentally has served previously in three other Lutheran churches. Jeff has served on the American Guild of Organists St. Louis Chapter as executive committee member, Sub Dean, and Dean. In addition to the Organ, Jeff has a passion for handbells, and has been a 20+ year ringer and current board member in the Gateway Ringers, an auditioned community handbell ensemble. He also is a published composer of five handbell pieces and is a member of the board for the Handbell Association of Greater St. Louis. He has been engaged by other churches as concert organist, recitalist, conductor and handbell workshop clinician.
Amanda Wick
Amanda Wick, MMT, MT-BC, has been a music therapist serving the St. Louis metropolitan area since 2018. Amanda leans into a person-centered style while also embracing an integrative approach to best serve the people she engages with through music. She holds a Bachelor of Music in Music Therapy from Illinois State University (2017) and a Master of Music Therapy from Maryville University (2023). She is currently pursuing her doctoral degree in Organizational Leadership through Maryville University of St. Louis. Amanda serves as Clinical Coordinator and Adjunct Professor of Music Therapy at Maryville University in St. Louis.
St. Paul Highland, IL
Our event begins with a visit to St. Paul Catholic Church in Highland, where Jeff White, CAGO and from St. Louis, will entertain us with recital pieces as well as some favorite hymns for all to sing along with. Jeff will be accompanied by Amanda Wick, vocalist and fourth generation of the Wicks organ family, for several of the songs. St. Paul Church is the home church of John, Louis and Adolf Wick who founded the Wicks Organ Company. John F. Wick was the first president of Wicks Organ Company who was also the organist at St. Paul for over 20 years. John played Wicks Opus number 3 after it was installed in St. Paul’s second Church building. In the 1950’s, that church building was torn down and the third building was built on the same site. In 1951 Wicks Opus 3170, consisting of a 3 manual 18 rank instrument, was installed on the balcony in the back of the church.
In 1974, after the Vatican II proclaimed that the pipe organ ” should be placed in a manner that allows it to be an integral part of the worship space, contributing to the overall atmosphere of the reverence and beauty.” St. Paul Church decided to locate the pipe organ to the front of the church. Wicks then built Opus 5434 which consisted of 23 ranks playable on a 2 manual console. This instrument was built with one of the most stunning case and tonal designs of its time. It truly follows the guidelines of Vatican II. Martin Wick and his family attended St. Paul Church and several family members still call this their home church.

If the name Tom Docter rings a bell or strikes a chord, it is because he has been on the St. Louis music scene for over 40 years. If you are a sports fan, you have heard him play organ for the St.Louis Blues Hockey and Cardinal Baseball games from the late 70s through the late 90s.
Docter has been the organist for 8 different pro sports teams in St.Louis. He started organ training at age 8 on a 3 manual Wurlitzer home organ. Tom has been a church organist for 45 years in the Metro-St.Louis area.... currently music director at St.Joseph Catholic parish in Clayton, MO.
"Dr.Tom" now performs at local nightspots and for private engagements playing and endless variety of music from all decades.
Olde Wicks Factory
After the recital at St. Paul in Highland Illinois, attendees may go to “The Olde Wicks Factory”. This was the third location of the Wicks Organ Company and is located at 1100 5th Street in Highland, Illinois. Wicks moved to this location in 1910.
The Olde Wicks Factory Special Event Center is a fantastic and beautiful event space in Madison County, Illinois. The 100-year-old historical building has been renovated and preserved to maintain its historical beauty. Rooms are tastefully decorated with pipe organ pipes and historic photos of the Wicks shop when it was in full operation. It is also the home of a 7 rank Wicks Theatre Organ Opus 737, which was built in 1927. It resides in the Grand Hall.
You will have the chance to hear it played by Tom Docter, who is known throughout St. Louis as one of the organists who played for the St. Louis Blues and the St. Louis Cardinals. Tom will be playing a medley of tunes significant to St. Louisans as they have been played many times at the local sports stadiums. Some of the tunes are a tribute to local landmarks, businesses and institutions that St. Louis is so proud of. There will be a chance to sing along to some of the more popular show tunes.
A catered luncheon will be provided by the local favorite Cygan Delaney catering in the Grand Hall (cygandelaney.com). Menu includes smoked pork loin, fried chicken, house salad, green beans, pasta con broccoli, twice-baked potato casserole and bread. Beverages available for purchase.
Tom will play background music while you dine, and Scott Wick will share with you a brief history of The Wicks Organ Company and the chronological milestones of the company's growth and management succession.
Scott Wick
Scott Wick is the 3rd generation family member of the famous Wicks Organ Company. In May of 2019 Scott purchased the assets of Wicks Organ Company and continues in the organ business under the new name Wicks Organ LLC. At an early age Scott developed his passion for the organ business working in the shop and servicing organs when school was not in session. Scott graduated from SIU-C in 1986 with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Electronics and Business. He has enjoyed working in the numerous departments of the business learning many of the different trades. While working in the Research and Development department Scott, developed the optical-key system which is still used today. He was awarded a patent for a new method of manufacturing reed shallots continuing the Wicks tradition of developing new innovations. Some of Scotts favorite aspects of the organ business are sales and installations. Scott currently serves as the president of Wicks Organ LLC.

The Olde Wicks Factory, located at 1100 5th Street in Highland IL, was the third location of the Wicks Organ Company. Wicks moved to this location in 1910. The total square footage of this location is 87,000 square feet which consists of multiple buildings on seven acres of land. This was Wicks primary location where over 6475 pipe organs were built. Wicks still maintains the largest Opus List of any USA pipe organ company that is still in business. In 2017 Wicks moved across the street to the current 416 Pine Street location. This 37,000 square foot building is the home of Wicks Organ LLC and Wicks Aircraft and Motorsports.

The current location of Wicks Organ LLC, 416 Pine Street Highland IL, is a short walk across the street from the Olde Wicks Factory. During the tour you will not only see our facilities but also get a chance to see the restoration of Wicks Opus 1. You will have the chance to meet some of the Wicks employees as they continue the art of organ building. You may wander over to the Wicks Aircraft & Motorsports and see our staff shipping parts and materials to places all over the world. You will also have the chance to meet Barbara Wick, Martin’s wife, mother of the Wicks children, staff organist and past president of Wicks Organ Company.
Martin Wick’s 1964 Pontiac Bonneville convertible will be on display as well. Martin purchased this car new and drove his children to school.

Brody Bett
Brody Bett is a highly sought-after 16-year-old multi-instrumentalist and singer who plays a wide variety of instruments including piano and pipe organ. He fell in love with the “king of instruments” at 6 years old and it is his biggest passion. Since then he has traveled the country playing some of the world’s largest pipe organs including the famous Wanamaker Grand Court Organ, the Midmer-Losh in Atlantic City, Salt Lake City Tabernacle, Disney Concert Hall and the Hazel Wright Organ at Christ Cathedral in California.
Brody has had the pleasure to perform at many great events and venues across the country. He has been the guest artist for the Greensboro Symphony, featured half-time artist for the NFL Carolina Panthers and performed for the L’Organo Series at The Piccolo Spoleto Festival in Charleston SC. Brody is the music director and organist for Irving Park United Methodist Church in Greensboro NC. He has a large following on social media where he posts organ and music videos. His goal is to spread the beauty of the pipe organ and bring in people you may have never heard or been interested in them. He especially wants to reach young people, and be an inspiration and advocate for these beautiful instruments.
